Votives need to be burned in a votive cup approximately the same size as the votive. The candle will liquefy and can be burned down to the tab. Also be sure to keep the wicks trimmed on your votives. Often on the 1st burn the wax will spill over the sides and take the shape of the votive cup. This may leave the burning wick a little longer than the optimal 1/4". Keeping the wick trimmed properly will slow down the burn rate and extend the life of your votive candle.
